Vegan Grocery List
Why Shop with a Grocery List?
Sure, lists can be kind of boring. But fight the urge to glaze over, friends. Even my Sagittarius heart can admit that lists are important. Sometimes, they are even liberating.
Grocery lists can help you:
- Stay on budget
- Remember essential groceries
- Reinforce your intentions
Staying on budget is important, whether you’re on the road or at your hometown farmer’s market. Remember essential groceries is important, too. One of the biggest misconceptions of the vegan diet is that it is bland and boring. To that, I counter with: How are you preparing your food? Savory meals start at the grocery store, but you have to remember to keep essential herbs and spices stocked to get the most out of your kitchen.
Of all the reasons to shop with a vegan grocery list, my favorite is number 3. The act of writing a grocery list, line by line, forces conscious thought about the items you are listing. For me, listing my favorite vegan groceries is a meditation on life. It is an opportunity for me to align intention (veganism) with practice (grocery shopping). As vegans, we can vote with our dollar. Want to get rid of big companies that violate animal rights? Cut their cash flow, and force them to respond to you, the conscious consumer.
