Fresh N Lean Vegan Meal Delivery Review 2021

Fresh N Lean Vegan Meal Delivery: Is It Worth It?

Eating fresh is easy. Chill, heat, eat, and repeat. Fresh N Lean offers locally sourced meals that arrive in vacuum sealed, oven-safe and microwave-safe containers. Their organic meals are ready in just minutes. We’re talking 3 minutes and dinner is served. Meals are delivered weekly with vegan and low carb vegan options.

Meals delivered by Fresh N Lean are all pre-made. We think that’s ideal for hustlers and families who find it tough to cook. If you like to cook, or you want to learn, we recommend going with a company that offers meal delivery kits. Our top picks for meal delivery kits are Purple Carrot and Sunbasket.

Don’t get us wrong. Vegan meal delivery by Fresh N Lean is delicious. And we loved these meals on days when cooking seemed like a chore. When you’re hungry, pressed for time, or simply want to relax, nothing beats a pre-made plant based meal.

That’s where Fresh N Lean shines. We were able to get started for just $63, making Fresh N Lean one of the least expensive options out there.

How it Works

Sign Up:
Signing up starts with selecting your meal plan. Fresh N Lean offers Vegan, Low Carb Vegan, Keto, Paleo, and Protein Plus. Once you select your plan, you will choose how many days per week you want meals, either 5 or 7, and then choose how many meals per day. You can choose from any combination of breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We liked the flexibility of choosing daily meal combinations.

Select Your Meals:

Fresh N Lean meal delivers fully prepared, vacuum sealed, fridge or freezer ready meals. The meals are organic and cater to several dietary needs: Vegan, Low Carb Vegan, Keto, Paleo, and Protein Plus. Fresh N Lean is free of GMOs, artificial preservatives, and gluten.

For this review, we signed up for the Standard Vegan plan. It consists of vegetables, whole grains, fruits, plant-based protein, nuts, seeds, and legumes. Some meals are made with Beyond Meat, which is a collab we definitely dig.

With your meal preferences in mind, Fresh N Lean sends you a chef selected menu. The upside is that it eliminates the time spent on choosing which meals will be delivered. The downside is that you do not have a more personalized menu. We prefer to be able to have more control over which dishes we choose, but some like the way Fresh N Lean takes the wheel.

Sample menu items include the black bean bowl with ginger sweet potatoes, spiced cauliflower with squash, and strawberry almond oatmeal. Overall, we found the menu to be both diverse and flavorful.

Fresh N Lean Delivery Review

Meals are delivered every Friday. You can pause your subscription or skip weeks, which needs to be completed on the Sunday of the week prior. Fridays seems to work well for people who preparing meals for the following week.

Personally, this is where we’d like to see more flexibility in the Fresh N Lean subscription service. We like getting meal deliveries earlier in the week so we can cook, experiment, and enjoy all week long. Weekends tend to be for going out. Flexibility-wise, we think Sunbasket and Purple Carrot are better options.

Taste Review

Some menu items tasted great, while others lacked in texture and flavor. It is a trial process to figure out which meals make your tastebuds sing, and meals you would like to pass on.

The good news: Fresh N Lean is pretty inventive. We especially liked the spiced cauliflower and squash. Despite simple ingredients, the team at Fresh N Lean puts together a pretty good flavor profile. Of all the meals we ordered and reviewed, we really didn’t have a bad experience.

Fresh N Lean Vegan Meal Delivery Review: Bottom Line

Overall, we would definitely recommend Fresh N Lean. If you are lucky, you might find the company at your local Whole Foods. We’ve spotted them in California and Pennsylvania, so they are coast-to-coast. Everything is kept in a refrigerator/ end cap. We found ours near the bakery while hunting for cookies. Keep an eye out, and if you find one, snag a couple premade meals to try before you enroll in a full membership.

Ordering from Fresh N Lean means you are giving back too. They donate all of their unused food to charities through Feeding America. We think this is a good reason to try the company, even if you want to cancel after your first delivery.

Bottom Line: Fresh N Lean is good for people who do not want to cook and are not as particular with what they eat. The program takes the guesswork out of ordering and the effort out of cooking. Out of all the meals we tried and reviewed, we didn’t have any bad experiences. Most meals were quite fresh and delicious!
